5 Modern Stylish Pants Every Guy Should Own

2021 was supposed to be the year we all shed our sweatpants, put on something more than a T-shirt, and embraced the new world ahead. Instead, we’re rightly approaching it with uncertainty.

When you think about the finer things in life, what comes to mind? Maybe it’s those walks with your significant other or sipping a fresh cup of cappuccino? Or what about hearing the Indian Ocean waves for a comfortable hotel room after an unforgettable night? Yes, those are all up there. But for us, we also believe wearing a great pair of pants belongs on such a list.

When it comes to style, everyone is entitled to their own. Nothing beats style than a guy who has a sense of fashion and is more than willing to see through all the trendy fashion in town. Finding a trusted pair of pants takes time, from knowing your style to the quality you aspire— the fabric, the cut, to making sure they fit — this is perhaps the toughest battle of them all.

File away the heavy wool and velvet trousers to make way for the new styles. Say it with us, folks: men’s dress pants aren’t just for dressy occasions. It’s time to stop associating trousers solely with job interviews, important meetings, and weddings, and start wearing ‘em wherever you goddamn please. We are talking about cargo pants, denim jeans, tailored trousers, khakis, light men’s linen, and pleated trousers.

    1. Cargo Pants

We have an adventure on the mind – and the pants to take you the distance. Forget what you remember about cargo pants. Cargo pants aren’t just for badly dressed bros anymore. Pockets abound, on wider- to slimmer-cut silhouettes (like those infamous pair of Balmain pants). This seems almost inevitable as cargos fit the casual aesthetic perfectly. When looking for cargo pants you really do have an incredibly wide selection available. From relatively toned-down pairs in dark colors, to full-on camo adorned with multiple pockets.

    2. Sweatpants

The truth is, we know you can’t get out of them — and neither can we. Sweatpants are probably the single most comfortable thing in a man’s closet. From those rainy days spent gaming on the couch to those afternoons on the court, these are sweats that won’t make you overheat.

    3. Joggers Pants

When did joggers leave? They didn’t entirely, but when you think about the progression of fashion, they transitioned from retro street-wear to leisurewear. They’ve crawled up to the apex again as a work-at-home business casual essential: comfy, with their drawstring waist, yet still offering a sense of normalcy with a twill blend.

    4. Classic denim

These past few years, we’ve seen it all. Moto jeans, rips (we like to call them ragged), spray paint, patchwork, and even excessive fading have all altered what we perceive as a timeless heritage menswear item. No more bells and whistles – just straightforward, sturdy cotton in a medium-indigo wash.

    5. Checked Pants

Checks seem to be everywhere at the moment. We’ve seen plenty on coats, shirts, and jackets, and pants are not being spared. It takes some confidence to wear check pants—more so that coats or jumpers. But it looks great if you can pull it off. And you can always tone it down by choosing a muted grey pair, or turn it up to eleven with a more colorful pair. This pants trend is one of the smartest on this list.

  • Every Woman Wants To Look Elegant This Season, I Got Beautiful Dresses For You Right Here

Every Woman Wants To Look Elegant This Season, I Got Beautiful Dresses For You Right Here

It is that time of the year, “watu wa Nairobi” we are getting ready to travel back home for the festive season. Of course when you are at shags, you still gotta look like a Nairobian- especially when the family gathering arrives with the ‘judgy‘ aunties who don’t know how to keep their opinions to themselves. It is yet another year to show up back home without a husband- lol (i have got you covered with the killer gowns to rock in and make people forget the wapi bwana question)

When it comes to finding a dress to wear, the options are endless. Certain outfits flatter certain body types, weather, and occasions, so it can be overwhelming to try and tackle the choices alone. Here is your guide to all dress types, for all your December occasions.

    1. Off the Shoulder

These dresses showcase your shoulders, while maintaining a sleeve or ruffle on the bicep. The off-shoulder style is great for those who want to exhibit their shoulders and arms but don’t want the commitment of a strapless look.

    2. Bodycon Dress

This dress is ideal for those with an hourglass figure, as it flatters the beautiful curves!

    3.Mini Dress

Nowadays, mini dresses are far more mini and far less scandalous, and they’re a great way to capture attention and showcase your pins! This dress is ideal for anyone who wants to put emphasis on their legs and make the world stop and turn! If you’ve got it, flaunt it!

    4. Wrap Dress

This style has a classic silhouette that is perfect for athletic body shapes, as it creates the illusion of an hourglass figure, even if you don’t have one naturally.

    5. Halter Dress

This style of dress is most flattering for those who wish to show off their ample shoulders

    6. High-Low Dress

It is the perfect style for anyone who wants to show off their sexy pins, and they’re best paired with high heels or platforms, so the back of the dress doesn’t drag on the floor.

    7. Sheath Dress

This dress style is perfect for those who want to put their gorgeous curves in the spotlight, as it flatters those with an hourglass figure.

    8. Peplum Dress

For those who love a playful style, a peplum dress is perfect. For a day to night look, you can swap flats for a pair of hot heels, adding height to your figure, making your legs look super long and your waist nipped in and tiny.

    9. Sweater Dress

Keep it casual with a sweater dress! It is perfect for all body types as there are so many different silhouettes. You can pair it with thigh-high boots to keep your pins warm, or add a sneaker for a fresh casual look!

    10. Pencil Dress

If you’re heading out somewhere and you’re trying to impress someone, the pencil dress is the one for you! This silhouette is great for a little black dress or a go-to for a date night. You can switch things up a bit by opting for a plunging neckline or keep it fresh and sexy with a turtleneck.

    11. Shirt Dress

Keep it cool and casual with a shirt dress. This style comes in different lengths, and sometimes has a nipped in waist. The focal point of a shirt dress is the collar and button-down front. It’s super easy to dress up or down, grab some chunky ankle boots or sneakers and you’ll be ready for a night out or a night at the beach!

    12. Ballgown

Be the belle of the ball with a ballgown! This style comes in many different forms, from a princess silhouette, with a prominent poufy skirt, all the way to the mermaid silhouette. A ball gown is a dress to wear when you’re ready to make a real entrance, and wow the whole room!

    13. Mermaid Silhouette Dress

A style of a ballgown, the mermaid silhouette is the perfect dress for a black tie occasion. If you have an hourglass or pear-shaped figure, opt for the tight-fitting silhouette. For column-esque bodies, you can go for a profile that’s a bit looser on the waist and hips.

    14. Cocktail Dress

As the name suggests, a cocktail dress is a choice for a schmaltzy party or drinks at the bar. A cocktail dress is a blend of formal and casual, it hits just at the knee and is perfect for cocktail dress code events. This is a versatile dress, with different necklines and silhouettes, so you can find the ideal dress to suit you.

    15. Denim Dress

When you’re not in the mood to squeeze into your jeans, slip on a cute denim dress! This casual-cool style is effortless, chic, and suitable for many occasions.

    16. Bardot Dress

Named after the blonde bombshell, Bridgette Bardot, this dress radiates decadence and sophistication. With an off-the-shoulder motif, these dresses are complete with a sleeve that sits just below the shoulders, giving you the impression that you’ve slipped the sleeves off just a little!

    17. Bell-Sleeve Dress

A bell-sleeve dress identifies itself with the sleeve ending at the mid-forearm or wrist, with a flare flowing down towards your hands. These dresses come in different silhouettes, but the focal point is the sleeves.

    18. Asymmetrical Dress

An asymmetrical dress is an excellent option for those who aren’t sure of the formality of an event or party. There are so many variations of asymmetrical dresses that flatter any body shape!

    19. Bandage Dress

The dress got its name due to its ‘bandage’ construction, consisting of layers of knitted tape that hug the curves in all the right places.

    20. Princess Silhouette Dress

The princess silhouette is what you’d typically see in a Disney film. The princess silhouette is a traditional and historic-inspired dress, for those who wish to be a princess for a day!

  • Top 10 Hottest Fashion Trends of 2021-2022

Top 10 Hottest Fashion Trends of 2021-2022

Following the weirdness of 2020-2021 fashion trends – with online business meetings, 2022 is expected to bring some refreshing changes you’ll love to hear about.

For the last 60 years or so, the ‘latest’ fashion trends were gathered from runways and fashion magazines.

Nowadays, it is the social media, youth culture, streetwear styles, and celebrities dictating and showcasing what’s cool and fresh in fashion.

To a certain extent, the fashion trends of 2020-2021 didn’t help much – in the sense of inspiring the general public.

But, in contrast to the apocalyptic settings the fashion industry was going through in 2020, 2021 brought to light fabulous social media-driven digital trends & aesthetic clothing, aiming to lift you up from the depths of quarantine.

And, compared to the neutral looks of 2020, this year showcased fresher and bolder looks, in part driven by a need to come back to ‘a normal life’ and in part by the blossoming TikTok fashion culture.

Popular fashion and clothing trends in 2021

Like most new fashion trends, the more you see it the more you begin to accept it and potentially even like it.  In this episode of UNFUSED, we break down how this trend emerged along with a few successful looks you can pull off. This was a competitive list to pull, but we finally came up with the hottest fashion trends of 2120- 2022:

    1. Hoodies Under Blazers

The blazer with a hoodie? Yeap! It’s legitimately a thing now! A blazer with a hoodie?  Come on, right?  To some, the phrase itself is an oxymoron.  Two dueling clothing articles that have no place being seen or worn together.  We know some enthusiasts will lament the slow erosion of formal, traditional menswear for “athleisure” or casual attire.  We get it.  Regardless, wearing a blazer with a hoodie is no longer just another street style but a transcendent, mainstream look.

    2. Power Bohemian Florals

So flower power is back in fashion, but not in a Laura Ashley nostalgic way; some are calling the trend hippy modernism or new boho.

The background is key when it comes to wearing floral print – it’s either light and fresh or dark and wintry, and that’s key to incorporating print into an existing wardrobe

    3. Color Clashing

How to mix and match colors in your outfits

Color is one of the essential elements of many designs. It keeps the viewer’s interest, draws the eye, and makes elements stand out. Contrast is one of the basic principles of design because it tends to draw the eye to an important element of a web page or print design, creating a focus of attention. Contrast doesn’t just mean contrasting colors; it exists in line widths, textures, color intensity, shapes, font sizes, and other elements, too.

    4. Tractor Trek-Sole Boots

Terrific editorial boot, but the sole is clownishly massive. … I don’t know how you could drive your car, though, while wearing these without having an accident, but who is asking? They’re made in Italy from polished leather with a logo-debossed round toe, elasticated side gussets and a heel pull. Wear them to bring a utilitarian slant to your style.

    5. Chunky Loafers

The chunky-sole trend infiltrated all the types of footwear, so seeing chunky loafers as one of the hottest trends of this spring wasn’t a surprise. There are many ways to wear such loafers everywhere, from work to everyday, take a look!

If you follow fashionistas on Instagram, you might have seen some bold and trendy looks with such loafers: a sweatshirt or a hoodie with a pleat skirt and these loafers. Another hot idea is wearing them with jeans, a shirt or a tee and a cardigan or a leather jacket. I like to think of them as Otile Brown’s signature look.

    6. Dark Academia

Dark Academia has its roots in the preppier style we all recognize as pleated skirts and cardigans but draws on gothic influence for a darker, more antique look. Think Harry Potter meets Greek culture and arts with a hint of thrifting as a personality trait. The result is vaguely reminiscent of playing dress-up with your grandpa’s old clothes while also carrying an iced coffee and a MacBook. Dark Academia represents everything glamorous and distinguished about higher education.

    7. Hot Goth

    killstarco weave haircut

Leather chokers and thick-soled combat boots don’t exactly scream “summer”, but if you’re a goth, it’s likely these are staple pieces in your wardrobe all year round. While non-goths might retire their darker clothes once spring has sprung, it’s not so straightforward for dedicated goths. Goths are for life, not just for Christmas!

    8. Y2K Fashion

The Y2K era was the nickname for the decade following the year 2000. This name began in the late 90s, thanks to the increasing popularity of the internet and the worldwide technology boom. In the lead up to the year 2000, there was some concern that calendars wouldn’t be able to format the date properly following 1999 – it is commonly referred to as the Y2K bug. This era in fashion reflected technological advancements, seen with silver clothing, futuristic fabrics, and collections inspired by films like The Matrix. The Y2K era is also characterized by oversized flared pants, platform shoes, designer logo prints, and small accessories.

    9. Wide Leg Pants

Wide legged pants are definitely back in 2021 fashion trend. I personally love wider pants which can be a very good choice of trousers for many women over 40 and short legged women like me, as flared pants are very leg lengthening when they fit well at the top. If you have a bit of a belly or muffin top (as many of us over 40 women have) then wide leg pants do a great job to cover them.

    10. Loud Logos

    logomania

Believe less is more? Then consider yourself a fan of quiet luxury. Love the look of logo-centric brands? Then you’re likely a fan of loud luxury. Whether you love quiet or loud luxury, it speaks volumes as to your social aspirations and is a key profiling trick that luxury brand marketers use to tap into their target audience.

  • Kenya: Top 10 Fashion Vloggers Worth Following in 2025

Kenya: Top 10 Fashion Vloggers Worth Following in 2025

Fast forward to 2025; in Kenya vlogging has become a good business, and Kenyan Fashion Vloggers are on the rise. You might think it is simple and all you need is just a photographer and a blog, well it’s more than that.

We looked at some things before we made a list of Fashion Vloggers in Kenya; this was no mean fete, coming up with the list of Best fashion Vloggers in Kenya. It is essential to admit that there are people who will always play the game better than their counterparts despite the rules being the same.

It is important to note that we have male fashion bloggers who just like their female counter are taking the industry by storm.

Here is what we considered when coming up with the list of best Kenyan Fashion Vloggers Worth Following:

    • Appearance – We realized most fashion vloggers copy the same layout. It is suitable for the beauty and fashion industry, but that kills creativity. How creative a vlog appears is, therefore, one consideration we made.
    • Content – We looked at content, how is it delivered? How frequently is it produced? Whereas most fashion vloggers use only images on their vlogs, some go way ahead of the rest and include videos and as much text as possible.
    • Loading time – if the vlog loads for more than 3 second, we skipped, if your vlog is slow, consider talking to Nabaleka Digital Solutions – they create beautiful vlogs.

After a long, tedious search, we found the bloggers who met our threshold
