Ezekiel Mutua, the CEO of the Kenya Film Classification Board, has disputed allegations that he has been fired.
Mutua stated in a statement that he was unaware of any such development and that the reports could not be genuine.
He went on to warn that the social media claims should only be viewed as rumors, and that Kenyans should disregard them.
“I am not aware of such developments and there can be no grain of truth in them as there’s no vacancy in the office of the CEO KFCB,” Mutua stated on Thursday night.
His statement came after Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr stated Mutua had been fired from the Board of Directors in a tweet.
Mutula stated that Information, Communication and Technology CS Joe Mucheru had fired the KFCB CEO illegally.
“Ezekiel Mutua unlawfully removed by CS Mucheru as CEO after being lawfully appointed by the Board. Laws are mere suggestions for this administration,”said Mutula.
