Babu Owino, Embakasi Member of Parliament has been finally set free by the court for shooting DJ Evolve and nearly killing him.
I keep wondering if it was me or any other ordinary Kenyan who would have done such a crime, would we have been set free. The answer is apparent, we will be rotting in jail right now.
However, people with money and power seem to have their way in nearly everything. Babu owino has been allowed to settle his case with the DJ outside court.
The MP succeeded to convince the court to set him free after promising DJ evolve multiple assets and provisions.
Below is the list of things that the popular disk jockey was promised;
- Clear the Ksh 17 million hospital bill.
- Pay nursing costs until DJ Evolve recovers.
- Buy a Noah and customize it for DJ Evolve.
- Buy a house for DJ Evolve and register it under his name and that of his parents.
- Build the DJ another house in Utawala.
- Set up a DJ Academy.
Babu went ahead to write in his Instagram account:
“I welcome the recent decision of the Senior Principal Magistrate Ochoi in which the court allowed DJ Evolve and I to resolve matters while embracing Alternative Dispute Resolution. I thank the court for being bold enough to uphold the restorative principles of Justice enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya 2010.”

In his statement, he also noted of their friendship with the DJ before things went sour and the aftermath,
”DJ Evolve is a brave and inspirational young man. I remain indebted to him for the gracious manner in which he has carried himself during this obviously challenging time.” We were close friends and have become even closer through this Damascus moment and I am committed to honoring my part of the agreement.”
