  • ‘Vasha’ turns Safari Rally into Safari Darling; What Are Kenyan Slayqueens Really Upto?

    ‘Vasha’ turns Safari Rally into Safari Darling; What Are Kenyan Slayqueens Really Upto?

    Twende Vasha is now the most common term in the country. The much awaited 2021 Safari Rally officially kicked off yesterday and is scheduled to hold over four days to 27th June 2021 in Naivasha, Nakuru County. This marks the sixty-eighth running of the Safari Rally.

    Based on the fact that it has been over a decade since Kenya hosted the Safari Rally, Kenyans have taken to social media with several versions of how they expect the motor racing to go down. What is surprising is that Kenyans seems to have taken the event as a platform for the big boys better known as “Subaru Men” to flex their muscles to ladies and not just ordinary ladies but slayqueens.

    Several memes are currently circulating in the social media of how girls are set to enjoy their ‘hard’ earned dues from the Subaru Men. Looking at these memes one would think Naivasha is set to hold a modeling competition.

    But is this even a surprise? We just tell the wazungus KARIBU KENYA.

    What you are missing

    Guys are having fun, why haven’t you packed to Naivasha. However, the fun seems to be overated or misinterpreted by some. Here is Kamene Goro’s thoughts on the hyped #Vasha event.

    ”This weekend is going to be a whole lot of fun… It’s going to be a rieng like no other. Babe, I really want to urge you. Please usipotee. Don’t lose your principles, don’t lose your values, don’t lose yourself… You do not want to wake up on Sunday full of regrets, tragedy and bad news.”

  • Questionable MCAs’ and MPs’ Qualifications to Vie Come 2022

    In Kenya, most of the elected mcas and MPS don’t hold colleges and varsities degrees but this has not relented them to be delegators in our societies.

    Recently, independent electoral boundaries commission (IEBC) enforced laws that all mcas and MPs should hold a degree if they want to contest in 2022 elections.

    In the past, the electoral act only required the president and the governors to possess a degree for them to be eligible to vie for their inspiring political stewardship stance.

    At the moment the Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen is drafting a bill to tweak the electoral act policy for all mcas and MPs to hold a varsities degrees for them to be acknowledged by IEBC to participate in any foreseeable election positions.

    Do you think it is appropriate for the mcas and MPS to compulsory hold university degrees for them to be approved as political leaders.

    Meanwhile, I concur with IEBC that it is essential for them to be exponentially knowledgeable but supposedly they should not be limited to take part in election positions. It is indeed exemplary that with better education they will be able to implement wise decisions as the current society that we have is sophisticated and having a premier education can assist them to solve issues promptly without so many inconveniences.

    And to conclude I also believe that if voters can decide and perceive them as their leaders then they should wholeheartedly be approved to address their mandate without constraints. What are your thoughts on this?

    Alaaa! Vera Sidika Opens Up for the First Time Regarding Her Abortion

    Kenyan Vera Mung’asia aka Vera Sidika has come out to address the claims that she had procured abortion in her previous relationship. This topic came during a question and answer session with her fans on Instagram.

    A fan sought the truth over the allegations that Vera aborted Otile Brown’s baby. While responding to this, the socialite indicated that she had never been pregnant before. She termed the allegations false.

    In her explanation, Vera cited that she had always been so cautious, always on contraceptives when in relationship to avoid unplanned pregnancy. She went further to justify her statement, citing that she loves children so much that she could not get pregnant only to abort the baby.

    Asked if Brown Mauzo’s pregnancy is her first, she replied;

    “Yes, the first time in my life to ever get pregnant. I have heard rumours that an ex said I aborted. This is not true. I am obsessed with babies. I love kids so much. I love kids so much. I would never get pregnant just to abort. When single, I take precautions. When in a serious relationship, I am always on contraceptives to avoid getting pregnant. “

    Vera was accused of procuring abortion in 2018 after her ex boyfriend Otile Brown composed a song titled titled ‘Niacheni’. In the song, Otile talked about a lady who she accused of aborting her baby. The fact that he was dating Vera made the public assume it was her who Otile was referring to in the song.

    Otile asked the lady to stop carrying herself like nothing happened after aborting his child. Part of the song’s lyrics cited;

    “Usijifanye eti hujui, Tatizo mimba yangu ulioitoa, Mimi niacheni msione nipo kimya mwenzangu nina mengi. Wacha nilie na moyo wangu maneno maneno mimi sipendi. I will do better.”

  • Rising Corruption in Kenya: What’s in Store for Wanjiku

    Rising Corruption in Kenya: What’s in Store for Wanjiku

    According to the 2021 budget, Kenya’s public debt stood at SHS 7.06trillion which is 65% of GDP.
    Coming from a place where we need to supplement with external borrowing, Kenyans have always been optimistic of what that money would achieve and what it means for our economic.

    If utilized accordingly, this public debt would increase our economic growth and investment. However, the more the debt, the higher the tax rates shoot.

    The last budget reading has seen prices for everyday commodities skyrocket and taxes imposed on farmers who have been making a living from these products from time memorial.

    The burden wouldn’t feel this heavy on wanjiku if the money borrowed and taxes raised was put into good use. But with money scandals all over and only a small chunk of the money set aside to help wanjiku getting to its destination, its the rich getting richer and wanjiku poorer.

    Since 2018, the country has lost a lot of public funds and the perpetrators are never brought to book. In that year alone, the country lost over 13billion to graft deals. In 2019 the same graft deals claimed 20billion of wanjiku’s money.

    At this rate, very soon the country will have more share of debts than it can handle. The system has a way of protecting its own and this leaves the common mwananchi to pay for debts he never profitted from.

    The bills keep rising, the debt keeps growing, and without a proper system to manage public funds and bring those who misuse it under the rule of law, more money will be lost, the taxes will go higher and life will become unbearable for Wanjiku.

    Shocking! Anne Kansiime Opens Up On Dating Biological Father

    Ugandan Comedienne Anne Kansiime has shockingly come out for the first time to reveal the unknown concerning her relationship with her biological father. According to her revelation, her closeness with her dad cost her the love of her life, as some of her boyfriends started questioning them.

    The funny girl cited that due to this closeness, her boyfriends became so insecure. To make matters worse for her, one of her exes started accusing her of being in a romantic relationship with her dad.

    Taking to her Facebook page on 21st June, just a day after celebrating father’s day, Anne started by citing that she is wondering if she is the only girl who has ever been accused of loving their father more than they love their mothers.

    Adding that she used to call her dad lollipop, part of her post read;

    “I have always done that since I owned my first phone 17years ago, something that cost me a few redundant relationships growing up with sons of women assuming I was cheating on them whenever my dad would give me his daily routine evening calls to check on me.’’

    Her statement is almost similar to the one given by KTN Tv’s Mary Kilobi. As the world was celebrating father’s day, the journalist confirmed that she is still mourning her late father who died one year ago.

    While eulogizing her father, Mary described him as her support system, number one fan and a loving father who was always available for his children. She went on to say how hard it has been to forget about him.

  • Why African Parents Are Incapable of Showing Their Children Love

    Why African Parents Are Incapable of Showing Their Children Love

    If you asked an African child how they know that they are loved, more than 90% will say that they took care of them to their level best regardless of the socio-economic status. However, is it not the responsibility of a parent to take care of their children?

    Many African parents mistake responsibility of love and the same is passed down from generation to generation. Looking at western nations, a day rarely passes without a parent uttering words such as “I love you son/daughter,” how was your day? I am proud of you. This is often coupled up with undivided attention. However, some might argue that actions speak louder than words, however, this is not a case to a parent-child relationship.

    Human beings are social beings and thus tend to value social interactions more than material things and this is even more intense when it comes to children.

    AFRICAN PARENTS WAHALA - YouTube

    Psychological studies have identified the core things that children need above all. Some of these things are love, security, emotional support and good role models. In all these, African parents fail a lot to provide.

    Majority of African parents work tirelessly to provide their children with basic needs and in this way assume that their children will feel loved. On the contrary, African children rarely experience love and tend to seek for love elsewhere.

    I believe that it is the lack of love and affection from home that makes many Africans admire the western culture. We Africans are rarely contended with what we have and that is the core reason for the increase in westernization tendencies in Africa.

    Khaligraph Jones surrenders After A Terrible Lose To Bahati

    Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones has accepted defeat to Kevin Bahati, just few days after terming Bahati’s new song ‘Kiherehere’. While reacting to Bahati’s new hit dubbed Fikra Za Bahati on Tuesday, 8th June, Khaligraph took to his Twitter account and wrote;

    These numbers gave Bahati bragging rights over fellow Kenyan artists, telling them through a post on Twitter that;

    In her post, the singer cited that the lion is always perceived to be the most dangerous animal. Despite that, it was killed by Samson. To her surprise, the same Samson brought down by a woman from Philippines, Delilah.

    She used this example to warn that many people do find themselves in unnecessary problems just because of their uncontrolled desires. She told men to be careful about ‘their hair’ as it what Delilah is targeting. She said;

  • Fundamentals of Being a Day Trader

    Fundamentals of Being a Day Trader

    I’M JUST LEARNING TRADING and I thought it will be good to share with fellow newbies what I have learnt so far.

    In the past, trading was a job done only by individuals or rather professionals working in big financial institutions, trading houses and brokerages. However, technology advancement has made it possible for anyone to learn and start trading at the comfort of their houses and in this case,

    “You can trade from the comfort of your home”

    If done right, I have come to find out that Day trading can be a very rewarding job. However, it is very challenging to start and you should never give up unless you know when it’s the right time to give up as outlined in this article;

    The Art Of Knowing When To Give Up

    What is Day Trading?

    Day trading is a form of speculation in securities in which a trader buys and sells a financial instrument within the same trading day, so that all positions are closed before the market closes for the trading day to avoid unmanageable risks and negative price gaps between one day’s close and the next day’s price at the open. Traders who trade in this capacity are generally classified as speculators. Day trading contrasts with the long-term trades underlying buy and hold and value investing strategies. Day trading can be considered a form of gambling.

    Day traders are attuned to events that cause short-term market moves. Trading based on the news is a popular technique. Scheduled announcements such as economic statistics, corporate earnings, or interest rates are subject to market expectations and market psychology. Markets react when those expectations are not met or are exceeded–usually with sudden, significant moves–which can greatly benefit day traders.

    Day traders use numerous intraday strategies. These strategies include:

    • Scalping: this strategy attempts to make numerous small profits on small prices changes throughout the day
    • Range trading: this strategy primarily uses support and resistance levels to determine buy and sell decisions.
    • News-based trading: this strategy typically seizes trading opportunities from the heightened volatility around news events
    • High-frequency trading (HFT): these strategies use sophisticated algorithms to exploit small or short-term market inefficiencies

    What you need to be a successful day trader

    • Discipline
    • Sufficient knowledge and experience in the market
    • Enough capital
    • A good strategy
